H2 HUBB product scores are based on our testing, analysis, and evaluation of the devices and/or products that are being scored. We take into account how well the product performs against already established objective standards that have been set forth by industry experts (i.e. Molecular Hydrogen Institute, International Hydrogen Standards Association). The recommended products are scored based on their specific category or type of device. Scores should not be compared to different products apart from their specific category, and doing so may give a false impression of a device’s capabilities. For instance, a portable hydrogen water bottle should not be compared to a counter-top hydrogen water machine, likewise a hydrogen inhalation unit to hydrogen water tablets (molecular hydrogen tablets). The maximum overall product score a product can receive is 5 stars. These product scores are reviewed and updated annually in order to reflect the dynamic nature of the therapeutic hydrogen industry, where manufacturers are constantly improving their products. Our product scores do not necessarily reflect the conclusions and opinions of the manufacturers, their distributors, retailers or other agents.
Test
Reports
The product scores are based on actual test reports we create for each product. They are independent from all other parties, and only reflect our testing and professional opinion based on our standards. We understand that many variables are involved in testing, some of which are extremely difficult to control and which can inevitably lead to different results. However, these product scores should give our potential clients an overall understanding of a recommended product’s strengths and weaknesses before making a purchase. If you’re interested in our official sample test reports for clients on a specific product we can discuss them over email via our contact form. We do not share our official test reports with the public out of professional courtesy to the companies that distribute the recommended products as the test report may contain sensitive or proprietary information.

- Water Flow Rate: This refers to how many liters of water the device can dispense in a minute. Higher dispensing flow rates are more ideal (i.e 2 liters/min).
- Build Quality: This takes into account the fabrication materials (metal, plastics, etc), internal production quality (screw, bulks, etc), engineering complexity for hydrogen, and overall design (look and feel of the system)
- Functionality: Considers overall function and intuitiveness of the product. Devices should not be overly complicated to operate or to assess its mode of actions.
- Value: Considers the company’s pricing or program for the products vs like devices on the market and their pricing
- Packaging: This refers to an adequate packaging for maintaining product quality and ensuring hydrogen remains for the desired length of time intended by the manufacturer or company.
- Safety: Overall safety of the device for its intended use and safety of drinking water.
- Shelf-life: Considers pre-package hydrogen beverages/water shelf-life and adequate packaging to achieve claimed shelf-life.
- Hydrogen Gas Purity: This refers to the level of hydrogen gas purity that the manufacture and or company state the device can provide. (i.e. 5N (99.999))
- Hydrogen Flow Rate (mg/min or mL/min): This takes into account measured and stated milliliter per minute hydrogen flow rate. Mainly used when assessing inhalation units.
- Convenience: How convenient is the product for clients to consuming the water. The less time and effort it takes to be able to use the product the higher the score will be.
