H2HUBB TAKEAWAY
This narrative review examined the available molecular-hydrogen literature. It was found that HRW decreased weight loss of material, and reduced the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), whilst increasing antioxidant activity. The reviewed evidence adds support for molecular hydrogen's therapeutic potential across the conditions, mechanisms, or outcomes examined.
What the Findings Mean
H2HUBB reviewed this publication as a synthesis of molecular-hydrogen research and summarizes the outcomes emphasized by the authors. It was found that HRW decreased weight loss of material, and reduced the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), whilst increasing antioxidant activity.
What the Researchers Studied
The authors reviewed editorial: Recent knowledge on the applications of molecular hydrogen in plant physiology, crop production, and food processing.
What Effects Did Molecular Hydrogen Have?

Hydrogen was formally identified as an element by Cavendish in 1766. It was found that HRW decreased weight loss of material, and reduced the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), whilst increasing antioxidant activity. The authors concluded that it was therefore concluded that addition of H₂ to such processes was worth considering, which is supported by similar studies (for example, Ceylan et al., 2023; Alwazeer et al., 2023a; Alwazeer et al., 2023b; Alwazeer and Elnasanelkasim, 2023; Alwazeer et al., 2023c ).
Why These Findings Matter
The reviewed evidence adds support for molecular hydrogen's therapeutic potential across the conditions, mechanisms, or outcomes examined.
How Strong Is This Evidence?
This is review or synthesis evidence (narrative review).
Technical Study Details
H2HUBB classifies this publication as narrative review with review or synthesis evidence. The study used a narrative review. The hydrogen delivery method was hydrogen-rich water.
Limitations and Safety
No separate limitations or safety findings were identified in the source text available to H2HUBB.
