The measured hydrogen output exceeded the manufacturer’s 600 mL/min claim by approximately 10.17%.

Nord Inhale 2.0 Review & Independent Test Results

Nord Inhale 2.0 Review & Test Results

The Nord Inhale 2.0 is a household pure hydrogen inhalation system built around a four-cell PEM/SPE electrolytic assembly. It includes a dedicated hydrogen outlet, separate oxygen vent, adjustable production settings, one- to six-hour timer, breath-responsive Pulse Mode, sleep mode, digital controls, and a one-liter distilled-water reservoir.

Independent H2HUBB testing using an Alicat H₂ Mass Flow Meter measured an average hydrogen output of approximately 661 mL/min at SATP. This is approximately 10.17% higher than the manufacturer’s stated 600 mL/min output.

The verified hydrogen output equals approximately 54.46 mg of molecular hydrogen gas per minute. The device also generated approximately 330.51 mL/min of oxygen, producing approximately 991.50 mL/min of total electrolytic gas.

The hydrogen and oxygen measurements should not be confused with the amount delivered through one nasal cannula. The tested unit includes a dedicated H₂ port for hydrogen inhalation and a separate O₂ vent. H2HUBB’s principal performance figure is therefore the independently measured 661 mL/min hydrogen output.

The report classifies the product as a 99.9% or 3N pure hydrogen system. Nord’s current product page lists 99.99% hydrogen purity and describes the machine as using genuine PEM/SPE membrane technology with titanium and platinum-coated components.

Based on its verified hydrogen output, consistent one-hour operation, Pulse Mode performance, electrical efficiency, operating controls, safety mechanisms, and distilled-water design, the Nord Inhale 2.0 received the H2HUBB Seal of Approval.

H2HUBB-Verified Gas Output

  • Manufacturer-Rated H₂ Output: 600 mL/min
  • Verified H₂ Output: Approximately 661 mL/min
  • Verified H₂ Mass Output: Approximately 54.46 mg/min
  • Performance Above Manufacturer Claim: Approximately 10.17%
  • Verified O₂ Output: Approximately 330.51 mL/min
  • Verified Total Electrolytic Gas Output: Approximately 991.50 mL/min
  • Continuous Hydrogen Flow: Approximately 11.0 mL/sec
  • Test Duration: One hour after a ten-minute warm-up
  • Test Method: Alicat H₂ Mass Flow Meter and gas displacement
  • Results Standardization: Converted to SATP where applicable

Understanding the Hydrogen and Oxygen Outputs

At the highest tested display setting, the machine generated approximately 661 mL/min of hydrogen and 330.51 mL/min of oxygen. These values reflect the electrolysis reaction’s approximate two-to-one gas-production ratio.

The tested configuration includes a dedicated hydrogen port and a separate oxygen vent. The H2HUBB report evaluates the hydrogen port as the principal single-user inhalation output. Users should not obstruct, combine, redirect, or modify either gas outlet unless the current Nord operating manual specifically instructs them to do so.

Pulse Mode Test Results

Pulse Mode is designed to store a portion of the hydrogen produced during exhalation and release it when the system detects inhalation or when the internal reservoir reaches its pressure threshold.

H2HUBB observed pulse-reservoir releases approximately every 4.5–5 seconds. Gas-displacement testing measured a released volume of at least approximately 40 mL per cycle.

Under the breathing assumptions used in the report, the combination of continuous hydrogen flow and stored hydrogen produced approximately 44–60.5 mL of hydrogen during enhanced breaths. The stored hydrogen was released during approximately 70–80% of evaluated breaths rather than during every inhalation.

  • Continuous H₂ Production: Approximately 11.0 mL/sec
  • Typical Stored Volume Before Release: Approximately 33–38.5 mL under the report’s modeled breathing interval
  • Enhanced-Breath Delivery: Approximately 44–60.5 mL H₂
  • Measured Release Volume: At least approximately 40 mL per release cycle
  • Observed Release Frequency: Approximately 70–80% of breaths
  • Typical Reservoir Release Interval: Approximately 4.5–5 seconds

Pulse Mode performance depends on breathing rate, inhalation duration, cannula fit, pressure-sensor sensitivity, reservoir refill time, and synchronization between the machine and the user. It should not be represented as delivering the maximum pulse volume with every breath.

Estimated Inhaled Hydrogen Concentration

The H2HUBB report estimates that the verified continuous flow can produce approximately 4.0–4.4% inhaled hydrogen for an average resting adult under the report’s respiratory assumptions and nasal-cannula model.

During enhanced Pulse Mode breaths, the report modeled momentary concentrations reaching approximately 4.0–8.8%. These are calculated estimates rather than a concentration measured inside every user’s airway.

Actual inhaled concentration varies with minute ventilation, tidal volume, inhalation-to-exhalation ratio, breathing rate, nasal versus oral breathing, cannula position, leakage, session setting, and Pulse Mode synchronization.

Electrical Performance and Efficiency

The Nord Inhale 2.0 uses four electrolytic cells connected in series. H2HUBB measured approximately 6.72 V DC across the cell assembly, equivalent to approximately 1.68 V per cell, with approximately 23.46 A of current.

The measured electrolysis power was approximately 157.65 W. Based on the measured electrical input, the calculated theoretical maximum hydrogen output was approximately 714.21 mL/min at SATP.

The verified 661 mL/min output represents an estimated 93% electrolytic efficiency relative to that theoretical maximum.

Independent Test Procedure

The unit was filled with distilled water and set to its highest tested production mode. The system completed a ten-minute warm-up before beginning the one-hour evaluation.

Hydrogen gas was routed through a drying system and humidity and temperature sensor before entering the Alicat H₂ Mass Flow Meter. The output was allowed to stabilize for approximately five to ten minutes to reduce interference from residual ambient air.

At least three tests were performed, and the reported flow values represent the average results. Gas displacement was also used to evaluate the Pulse Mode reservoir and release volume.

Distilled-Water and Maintenance Requirements

The Nord Inhale 2.0 requires distilled or properly deionized water that complies with the current manufacturer instructions. Mineral-containing tap water should not be placed in the electrolytic reservoir.

The current manufacturer lists approximately 10 mL of water consumption per hour and recommends replacing the reservoir water at the required maintenance interval. Follow the current manual for filling, draining, water replacement, cleaning, storage, and extended periods of nonuse.

Pure-Hydrogen Safety

Hydrogen is flammable. Keep the machine, hydrogen outlet, nasal cannula, tubing, pulse port, and surrounding area away from smoking materials, flames, sparks, static discharge, heating elements, electrical arcs, and other ignition sources.

Use the system in a suitably ventilated area. Do not obstruct the oxygen vent or heat vents, and do not modify the gas ports, pulse reservoir, pressure sensors, tubing, electrical system, or internal cell assembly.

Inspect the nasal cannula and tubing before use. Stop operation if tubing is damaged, gas flow appears abnormal, water enters the gas line, the machine overheats, an alarm activates, or the device displays an error.

The H2HUBB report documents internal gas separation, deionization resin filters, low-water protection, ventilation fans, heat vents, and reservoir-based thermal protection. The report does not provide separate quantitative chlorine or ozone gas measurements, so this page should not describe those contaminants as independently measured by H2HUBB.
