H2HUBB TAKEAWAY

In an animal model, no change in the PH or composition of the solution was observed due to hydrogen filling. These preclinical findings add evidence supporting molecular hydrogen's therapeutic potential within the outcomes and biological pathways measured in this model.

What the Findings Mean

H2HUBB reviewed how molecular hydrogen was evaluated in this publication and summarizes the source-grounded findings below. No change in the PH or composition of the solution was observed due to hydrogen filling.

What the Researchers Studied

The study used a preclinical animal experiment.

What Effects Did Molecular Hydrogen Have?

Before the intravenous administration of the hydrogen-saturated saline, 1 mL of blood was collected from the left internal jugular vein, right internal antrum, and right internal carotid artery, respectively, and the hydrogen concentration (pre) was measured. Then, hydrogen-saturated saline was administered intravenously at a rate of 150 mL/h (3 mL/kg body weight/h) using an infusion pump (TOP-230V: TOP), and 1 mL of blood was collected from the left internal jugular vein, right internal atrium and right internal carotid artery at 30, 60, 90, and 120 min after administration started, respectively. The hydrogen concentration (30 min, 60 min, 90 min, and 120 min) was measured. No change in the PH or composition of the solution was observed due to hydrogen filling. The authors concluded that confirmed that hydrogen could be safely pressurized and filled into intravenous (pharmaceutical) solution without contamination by foreign objects using a needle-free vial access cannula.

Why These Findings Matter

These preclinical findings add evidence supporting molecular hydrogen's therapeutic potential within the outcomes and biological pathways measured in this model.

How Strong Is This Evidence?

This is preclinical animal evidence from a preclinical animal experiment. It is most informative for the disease model, mechanisms, biomarkers, and outcomes directly measured in the study.
